I chose to go to the CVS on Spring Garden. CVS is categorized as a pharmacy. There are many location advantages that this particular CVS has. The first advantage is that it is located within close walking distance of a populated college campus giving the CVS permanent steady traffic throughout the day. Another advantage of its location is that unlike the new Walgreens, u can access through coming from either direction of traffic. I think another plus for CVS is that it is right across the street from a gas station so if there is something that a customer needs that the gas station doesnt have they can easily cross the street and grab what they need. One of the disadvantages of its location is that it is extremely close to walgreens. Being that there is so much traffic during the day, the entrance to CVS can be a bit hard to get into and traffic coming out of the CVS can be dangerous at times. Since it is located so close to campus there is a lot of pedestrian traffic in front of the CVS on the sidewalk and can cause some issues at times getting in and out. The parking situation is pretty good. They have the slanted parking spaces which are easier to get in and out of. I think that this location, overall, is a great location for a pharmacy. I personally am a regular user and couldnt live without it.

Different retailers have different target audiences. Specialty stores such as PeaPods are geared to women that are expecting a child or are already pregnant. Other specialty stores like pets mart are specifically for people wanting to buy things for their pets or animals. Every retailer aims at targeting a different customer. Forever 21 is for teens to young women and men. They are very popular becasue of the price and the styles of their clothing. Targeting customers can be tricky. Certain retialers will do better in certain locations due to income..weather...social groups...geography...and other reasons.

The results for my VALS survey are...

Experiencer/Innovator
Your primary VALS type is Experiencer, and your secondary type is Innovator. The primary VALS type represents your dominant approach to life. The secondary classification represents a particular emphasis you give to your dominant approach.

I think that those are right on with who I actually am. I am always willing and wanting to try new things and I am a very open minded person and acepting of many different ideals.

Our target person we presented on tuesday was the Kohls shopper. I dont really fit into that category. As far as my style and personality go I would rather shop in the more fashionable retailers. I can have an innovative appraoch to fashion and going to kohls probably wouldnt be the best place for me to accomplish that. We said that Kohls target customers would be families that want to get all their shopping done in one go around. I like to buy things from a variety of stores.

RCS 261 Blog 1 Favorite Retailer

Ever since I was young I have had a love for shopping. Over the years I have had numerous favorite retailers. I have gone through various styles therefore have had different favorite shops at different times. For the last few years though, I have really come to love Express.
One reason that I love this retailer over others is that thier clothes are more sophisticated than a lot of other stores that i usually shop at. Their clothes are more geared to the career woman which i find very appealing. Another reason why I prefer them is because of their selection. Even though they have a lot of work and dress clothes, they also have a big selection in jeans, tees, sweaters, and going out tops. One of the biggest reasons I prefer to shop there is because of the quality. Yes, they are more expensive than forever 21 but there clothes seem to last a lot longer than those of other stores. Express is also a very uptown fashionable place to shop. They offer only items that are in style, fresh, and classic. I like how the products they offer are very sheek. The last reason why I choose Express over other retailers is because I enjoy the atmosphere. It is never too crowded and the associates really seem to want to help you with finding what you are looking for...Overall I think that Express is a better place for me to shop.
